Pre Natal Yoga with Jonni-Lyn Friel

Yoga offers tremendous benefits to women through every phase of pregnancy, labor and childbirth and throughout the postpartum period. During pregnancy, women experience many changes physically, emotionally and mentally. On the physical level, yoga helps women to build and maintain their strength, stamina and flexibility. We will be learning Yoga’s breath awareness and pranayama techniques, to help quiet the mind as well as guide the breath during labor. Together we move through this time, supporting each other and ourselves. Through movement, mantras (chanting) and mudra (hand gestures) we will take these ancient practices and use them to guide and support us during this unique time in our lives.
Jonni-Lyn Friel is a certified Pre and Post natal Yoga teacher. She has been guiding women in Prenatal yoga for the last 9 years. A mother herself, she found the practices of yoga to help her on her own pregnancy journey and loves to share her practices through humor, warmth and compassion. Through her school Namaha Yoga School, she has led many Prenatal and Postnatal trainings, guiding other teachers through the certification process.
